In the beginning of 2001, Media & Advertising Center (MAC) was launched as the first official entity we work under, MAC was chosen by the board of the Mauritanian Heritage Project funded by the World Bank as an official art consultant, this was the main push for us to start our activities. Later on, MAC was selected by the UNFPA office in Mauritania to release the layout of its youth-oriented bulletin "Info-Clubs", many important newspapers in the country asked MAC for art directing, now, 95% of local newspapers use MAC's innovative Arabic font system (an advanced type setting put by MAC). The success of Media & Advertising Center was increasingly set forth by the contracts we received from many entities until the mid of 2004 while some of the staff decided to work privately, however, a new establishment was launched.

July 2004, "Hacen Artworks Bureau" was created to replace the closed Media & Advertising Center, "Hacen" (spelled "ha" as in harmony, "cen" as in cent) has been chosen to represent our new trade name. We restarted our artwork business, but this time we expanded our activities to include web graphics, video/audio editing, media and training.

Hacen Artworks engaged in many multimedia projects in collaboration with some partners such as "SoundArt Project", "Post-Grafix", "Mediamax", "Hacen Graphics" and many others*..

Now, "Hacen" is held by M. Hacen, who is a free-lance graphic designer, the goal of "Hacen" is to continue the success of previous entities in the field of design, typography and media. Hacen Web site has been entirely rebuilt to present the new activities we aim at, many new sections added such as fonts and the forum. We look forward to afford more new achievements in the field of our domain.
