NADINE CHAHINE

Nadine Chahine is a type designer from Lebanon. She studied Graphic Design at the American University of Beirut and Typeface Design at the University of Reading UK. She works now as the Arabic expert at the famous German type company Linotype. Nadine has a contemporary vision focused on Arabic type, she's been working to develop new Arabic fonts to meet the standards of Latin ones, she also developed and innovated special Arabic fonts with separate characters.

Latin meets Arabic

The way Nadine deals with Latin fonts to produce compatible Arabic counterparts is perfect, we see here on the right an excellent Arabic font based on Latin style made by her, the result is very compatible:

On the left, one of the detached fonts by her, however, the idea of separating Arabic letters affects the composition of Arabic calligraphy. In despite, this font is very distinct and elegant especially the letter "Waw" and the "Seen" which is simply an "E". This reflects high efficiency in harmonizing Arabic letters with their Latin counterparts.
